Seventy-five to one hundred students, faculty, and parents attended the Student Nutrition Tasting Kitchen to preview potential new menu items for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Tasting Kitchen took place in the AHS cafeteria on Thursday, January 17, 2019.  Six brokers presented products from 14 different vendors, including products from Land O’Lakes, Wild Mikes, Jennie-O, and Tyson.  Attendees were treated to pizza from Alpha Foods, Nardones, Tony’s and Wild Mikes; samples included cheese, pepperoni, Fiestada®, buffalo-style white chicken and pepperoni green chile.  Other samples provided include three flavors of Blenderz applesauce, turkey chili, mozzarella tamales, chile relleno burritos, fiesta cheese omelets, turkey burgers, waffle flavored chicken chunks, sliced beef, jalapeno cheese dip, hot & spicy chicken drumsticks, potato rounds, hummus, and chicken with their choice of six Asian-inspired sauces.


Surveys were provided for attendees to provide their feedback to Student Nutrition, who will use the information to make  ome much needed changes to existing school lunch menus in the future.
